Minnesota Slate Nest Box (CJ Wildlife)

Why are nest boxes important?

Natural nest sites are being lost having devastating consequences for bird species.

Birds are an essential component of functioning ecosystems and have a direct impact on human populations and millions of other species. It is therefore important to provide our feathered friends with a home.

The best height for a nest box is between 1.5m and 5.5m. Site the nest box at a height to avoid predators like cats. Face the nest box between north and east avoiding the prevailing wind and strong sunlight.

It has a cleaning flap so it can be easily cleaned out after the nesting season, and drainage holes so moisture from the birds’ feathers can drain away.
